Continuing the legacy, Artistic Director, Choreographer, Master Teacher and the Creative Inspiration behind Nicholas Dance Studio, is ‘Ms. Cathie’, the granddaughter of Fayard Nicholas of the legendary, dynamic dance duo, the Nicholas Brothers! She has performed at Carnegie Hall, London, England, taught Master Classes at Stanford and Duke Universities and at Tap Festivals in Detroit, Las Vegas, St. Louis, and Philadelphia to name a few of her accomplishments. For the past 12 years, she was the Tap Instructor at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA) where she also assisted Ms. Allen in several roles including Co-Directing and performing in the Hot Chocolate Nutcracker (2013-17), Directing Twist in Baton Rouge and Pasadena, and participating in countless Lecture Demonstrations at local schools. Prior to teaching at DADA, she was a DADA student when Ms. Allen first opened the doors in 2000. However, true homage and credits go to Paul Kennedy of Universal Dance Designs for teaching her to become the Tapper Extraordinaire she is today. She became a ‘Kennedy Kid’ at the age of 2 and is proud to carry all of these rich legacies forward.
